Learn more about Dental HygienistRegular examinations, straightforward treatment and preventive advice — the everyday care that keeps small problems from becoming large ones.
General dentistry is the foundation of everything else. A thorough examination looks at your teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, and picks up changes early, when they are simpler and less expensive to treat.
It also covers the routine treatment that follows: fillings, x-rays where needed, and advice tailored to your own mouth and habits rather than general guidance.

Changes found early are usually simpler and less costly to treat.
What we find is explained in plain language, with the options.
Teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, not just the obvious.
Recall intervals suggested for your own risk, not a fixed rule.
A full check of teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues.
Taken where clinically needed to see between and beneath teeth.
Findings explained, with options and costs set out.
Any agreed treatment carried out at your pace.
A review interval suggested for your own needs.
Everyone, whether you attend regularly or have not seen a dentist for some years. If it has been a long time, you are welcome — the examination is the same, and the aim is to understand where things stand before discussing anything else.
A new patient examination is £82.00. See the price list for the full schedule.
Amalgam and white/composite options are available and priced on our list.
Taken only where clinically justified.
Under-16 examinations are free where a parent or guardian is a regular patient seen in the last 12 months.

No. A great many people come back after a long gap and it is entirely normal. The examination is simply the starting point.
